Established in 2012, Project Chetna (“Awareness”) is QUALIS’s health education program for under-privileged female artisans and girls. Through this program, girls and women receive health trainings about good overall health habits, nutrition, and hygiene (including menstrual hygiene). In addition, they also receive general health and eye exams. These health examinations are especially necessary for the artisans because their artisan work, which requires intense concentration that can lead to back and eye problems.
