Created in 2012, “Each One, Teach One” is one of QUALIS’s longest running programs. The concept behind “Each One, Teach One” is the idea of reciprocity and that everyone can learn from each other. Its purpose is to provide free education to girls in need, but the girls teach as much as much as they learn; it’s a two-way street. But what also makes “Each One, Teach One” unique is that it does not only focus on traditional subjects such as reading, writing, and math. Instead, “Each One, Teach One” provides girls a holistic education by also teaching them life skills. It offers classes in various subject areas including English conversation, safe banking methods, computer training, and art. Classes, which range from 50 to 100 students, last for approximately 1.5 to 6 months. Classes are taught at various local venues by local and international volunteers with subject expertise. Since its inception, more than 4,000 women and girls have benefitted from “Each One, Teach One.”
